Long before the existence of the United States Air Force Special Operations Command Armed Overwatch program, the United Arab Emirates embarked on a visionary program. They equipped their armed forces with a low cost, multi-mission platform designed for border security and counter-insurgency operations.
In 2010, the first of 24 AT-802 Block 1 Border Patrol Aircraft (BPA) was designed, tested, and delivered by IOMAX to equip the UAE armed forces with a unique, first-of-its-kind platform capable of conducting long endurance ISR missions and Find, Fix and Finish missions with a variety precision guided munitions.

In service today with the Royal Jordanian Air Force, the AT-802 Block 4 Border Patrol Aircraft represents Tactical Aircraft Solutions (TAS) most advanced strike package ever designed and fielded. Key features of the AT-802 Border Patrol Aircraft are its suite of sensors, surveillance, and armament equipment.
It is equipped with the Wescam MX-15D EO/IR targeting sensor to provide comprehensive situational awareness and enable operators to detect, track, and monitor activities along the border and share imagery and information via datalink. It includes C3 Engineering Solutions’ stores management system (SMS) interfacing with a Genesys glass cockpit compatible with Night Vision Devices (NVDs), and the Thales Scorpion Helmet Mounted Display.

Combat Proven and Built for Endurance
Accommodating a crew of 2 in a tandem configuration, the BPA operates at medium altitudes (12,000 to 18,000 ft mean sea level (MSL)) with a typical cruise speed of 170 KTAS to execute a variety of missions. With its very large fuel capacity and efficient turboprop propulsion, the Block 4 BPA can execute long endurance missions of 8+ hours allowing for coverage of extensive distances while fully armed. It is capable of operating at altitudes up to 25,000 ft.) for periods of time exceeding eight hours, depending upon the power setting, payload, and amount of fuel onboard.
